摘要: Objective:Toestablishthechemicalprofile,andtoevaluatetheantibacterialandmodulatoryactivityoftheethanolicextractsofthestalksinnerbarkandheartwoodofSecondatiafloribunda.Methods:QuantificationoftotalplienolsandflavonoidswasdeterminedbytheFolinCiocalteumethodandaluminumchloride,respectively.PhenoliccompoundswereidentifiedandquantifiedbyHPLC-DAD(HighPerformanceLiquidChromatographyDiodearrayDetector)andtheInfraredSpectroscopywasperformedusingthemeasurebyAttenuatedTotalReflectancewithFourierTransform(ATR-FTIR).AntibacterialassaysfordeterminationoftheMinimumInhibitoryConcentration(MIC)andmodificationofaminoglycosideswereperformedbymicrodilution.Results:Infraredspectrashowedsimilarcharacteristics,havingamongitsmainabsorptionbandshydroxylgroup(OH).TheantibacterialactivityshowedclinicallysignificantresultsforthestrainsofStaphylococcusaureusandEscherichiacoli.Inmodulationassay,synergicandantagonisticeffectforbothextractswasobserved.HearttwoodextractincombinationwithantibioticsshowedasignificantMICreductionat19.8%(P<0.0001)-79.3%(P<0.01).Conclusions:ThisstudyisthefirstreportofchemicalandbiologicalinformationofSecondatiafloribundasuggestingthatitisclinicallyrelevantsourceofanewantibacterialtherapy,especiallyduetothepresenceofsignificantlevelsofphenoliccompounds. ...
